Twin Rivers Ministry

Room 811 Ministry at the Twin Rivers Correctional Facility is ministering to just under 100 men incarcerated there per week. We know that God loves all people, regardless of their past. We also know that we are directed by Jesus to visit those in prison. He said in Matthew 25:36, "I was in prison and you came to visit me." When asked, "When did we see you ... in prison?" Jesus replied, "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." (See verses 39,40, NIV.) Our goal for Room 811 Ministries is to reach those in prison with the love of Christ and send them on a journey of LOVING God and others, GROWING in God with others, and SERVING God by serving others.

One man who is doing life without parole, recently said that had he been exposed to this kind of teaching of the Word of God when he was running the streets, he would not have come to prison in the first place.

Every week you can see the “light” go on in a man’s eyes, and the subsequent change in their lifestyle. The Spirit of God continues to move in powerful ways and more and more men are signing up for classes. Currently we are limited to 60 men because of the lack of volunteers to help so our waiting list grows weekly. The turnover rate is almost zero. May God continue to bless His work behind the bars of this earthly prison so that these men may be freed from the prison of sin.

We are looking for adult men to help volunteer as a part of The Church at Twin Rivers so that the ministry can continue to accommodate more men. If you are interested in helping with this ministry please contact The Church office at 425.489.9898/360.668.4180 or info@thechurchat.org.

Sunday Gathering
Every Sunday we offer a service from 1:30-3:30 consisting of worship and interactive teaching. The men are encouraged to raise their hands during the “sermon” to ask questions or add to the lesson. It is a favorite for the men because we study exclusively Jesus Himself, His life, His Gospel, and how it relate to them in Prison. We also partake of Communion the third Sunday of every month.

Bible Study

On Wednesdays, from 12:30 to 3:30, we have “Faith Finders Fellowship,” an advanced interactive Bible Study that started with only six men. It was so popular that we wrote an entire two year course that has lasted almost five years and we now number 40 to 50 men at each class. We have covered a wide variety of topics including Prophecy, Apologetics, and Creation. We answer questions such as Is there a God?, Does the Bible say Jesus is God?, Is the Holy Spirit real? We praise God that so many men come and are active participants.

We are titling our current focus the “The Year of Jesus” and will study in depth the man of Jesus Christ.

Celebrate Recovery

We are so excited to have the opportunity to launch a “Celebrate Recovery” program. Our goal is to provide help to the men in working through their hurts, hang-ups and habits.
